This policy applies to individuals residing in the United States who use 9GAG’s services. It covers all personal data collected about you when you use our website, apps, or other services, whether provided by you directly, collected automatically, received from affiliates or third-party sources, or derived from your usage (e.g., browsing history, engagement, device data, etc.).

We may collect and process “personal data,” which may include: identifiers (e.g., name, email, account ID, IP address), commercial data (e.g., transaction or purchase data), internet or network activity (e.g., browsing history, app usage), location data (e.g., inferred from IP address), demographic or inferred attributes (e.g., age, gender), and other data that identifies you or may reasonably be linked to you.

We use such data for purposes including — but not limited to — operating and maintaining our services; providing user support; performing analytics; developing and improving features; advertising, marketing, and delivering relevant content; fraud prevention and security; error logging and debugging; compliance with legal obligations; and other legitimate business purposes as described at or before the time of collection.

We may also create de-identified or aggregated information, and we will maintain and use such information in de-identified form and will not attempt to re-identify it except as permitted by law.

2. Consumer Rights & Choices

Depending on your U.S. state of residence (and consistent with applicable state-level privacy laws), you may have the following rights with respect to your personal data:

Right to Access / Know: You may request to know what categories (or specific pieces) of personal data we have collected about you, how we use it, whether we share or sell it, and with whom.

Right to Delete: You may request that we delete personal data we have collected from or about you. We will honor valid deletion requests subject to applicable legal exceptions, including where retention of the information is necessary to provide our services; protect the security and integrity of our systems; prevent, detect, or investigate fraud or other unlawful activity; debug and repair errors; exercise or protect free speech or other legal rights; comply with legal obligations or lawful law-enforcement requests; conduct scientific or historical research where permitted by law; or for our internal business purposes reasonably related to your relationship with us.

Please note that we require certain personal information to operate and provide our services. If you request deletion of such information, you may no longer be able to access or use some or all of our services.

Right to Correct: You may request us to correct inaccurate personal information about you.

Right to Opt Out of Sale, Sharing or Targeted Advertising: Where “sale,” “sharing,” or “targeted advertising” as defined under applicable state laws is involved, you may request to opt out so your data is not sold or shared, or not used for profiling, behavioral advertising, or similar uses, and where required by applicable law, we honor recognized universal opt-out preference signals, such as Global Privacy Control (GPC).

Right to Non-Discrimination: We will not discriminate against you for exercising your privacy rights.

Right to Use Authorized Agents: Where permitted by law, you may designate an authorized agent to act on your behalf. We may require signed authorization and verification of both the agent and you as the requester.
